Introducing TOVA
-Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Assessments and Testing

With the supervision of Karen Stauffer, Clinical Resident, and Jodi Courtad-Holman, Supervising Counselor, the Test of Variables of Attention (T.O.V.A.) is a state-of-the-art Continuous Performance Test that provides highly accurate, reliable information about an individual's sustained attention, speed and consistency of responding, and behavioral self-regulation.  These are all critical aspects of attention known to be compromised in persons diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as well as other conditions affecting the central nervous system.

For individuals taking the T.O.V.A, they will find it is a simple, easy to follow,  and yet very boring computer game.  While the T.O.V.A. does not determine the diagnosis, it is an excellent tool to help measure and confirm an individual's struggles with attention.  It is also very helpful in monitoring progress over time and with various treatment approaches.
